First, I apologize to anyone still reading my blog. I haven’t fallen off the face of the Earth, I’ve just been incredibly busy working on my next app. I should have some news very soon, with a public beta program in December. If you’re interested in participating in this beta, please send an email to [...]

I’ve been writing a lot of PyObjC code lately in TextMate. I found that there really wasn’t a good way to execute py2app based project in TextMate, which was considerably lengthing my hack/test/debug cycle. So I created a PyObjC bundle, and whipped up a little Build & Run PyObjC command which is activated by hitting [...]

Thanks again to PRUG for allowing me to show off a little bit of RubyCocoa. Great folks who run a great group, I’ll be sure to attend again soon.

Just thought I’d put out a quick word on an open-source gem I’m planning on using in my upcoming product, Changes.app. ConnectionKit is a publishing framework which supports HTTP, FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, .Mac (more WebDAV I think), and Amazon S3. From spelunking through the code, it appears to be well written and easy to integrate [...]

Test BlogMate Post

I’ve been making good progress on Changes.app. I’m finishing up the directory comparison view and moving on to the line-by-line comparison.
Originally, I thought I’d make the line-by-line file comparison work like the one in FileMerge.app.
However, I liked the way that Beyond Compare 2 allows the user’s eyes to track horizontally across the window to the [...]

Jordan Langille (of OneToad Design) has designed an awesome icon for Changes.app. I’d highly recommend him to anyone looking for application icon design for OS X.
Check out his portfolio here.
The new icon will debut when Changes.app is released.

I’ve started working on a new app in my very scarce spare time. It’s a bit of a secret right now, but here are some hints:
The app’s working name is “Changes”.
It’s for Cocoa.
Leopard-only of course.
An app that is widely-used in Windows but has no direct competitor on the Mac
Will scream on multi-proc machines.
Still trying to [...]

The Good:
Aaron Hillegass’s Talk on Solving “Real Problems” - My thoughts on this: Do we really need another blinged-out CD burning app?. How about solving some real problems, like law/medical/business problems???
Jak’s Tap - Great night, lots of booze and camaraderie.
Talking about Needed Community Projects - Apple isn’t going to help us here. Some serious love [...]
